ABOUT US

For over two decades, we've hosted major international triathlons under the World Triathlon Series Edmonton banner.  We have all of you — our partners, volunteers and the community — to thank for our success. Our wealth of experience has provided new opportunities and the chance to evolve who we are and what we do.  With that said, we’re thrilled to unveil our new name, Do North Events. As it’s been our slogan for the past few years, we made the easy decision to make it our official identity. People loved it, and we love it too.

Do North Events has been working on exciting new projects to amplify our impact and continue our legacy in sport and events while remaining steadfast in our commitment to triathlon.

Our community will always be our driving force. We are an Edmonton-based not-for-profit organization committed to delivering major world-class sporting events. Our new name captures this spirit and our unique Canadian perspective. Together, we will continue raising the bar! Do North!

Embracing Triathlon’s Sister Sport

Do North Events is the longest running major international sport event organization in Edmonton. Since 1998, we’ve been building the sport of triathlon and the profile of our amazing city. This year, we’ve decided to expand our focus to cycling and other international sporting events, sharing our wealth of knowledge in hosting major events with a wider audience.

A Collaborative Approach

Do North Events has a fantastic team who understand how to deliver major events. But we can’t do it without our partners and our volunteers, many of whom return year after year. Thanks to all!

What We Do

We do it all! Drawing on a wealth of experience, we organize and deliver major events in addition to securing sponsors, handling marketing and promotions,  community activation and engagement, and developing and implementing legacy projects. We also consult with cities and organizations to help them plan for and deliver exciting and highly successful events in their cities and regions.

By the Numbers

For over two decades, our not-for-profit organization has delivered over 25 major events. We are proud to say that Edmonton is one of two cities in the world that has hosted the World Triathlon Championship Finals three times, most recently in 2021.

Impact on Edmonton

Edmonton is our home and we are passionate about supporting our community. Major sporting events create social, economic, and reputational benefits for the cities that are hosting them, and the social impacts have become increasingly important to our city’s leaders. We ensure that our events are accessible to all, and have cultural aspects woven into them.

A Solid Reputation

Did you know that Edmonton has produced more Olympic triathletes than any other city? Around the globe, those involved in the sport actually know us as Canada’s triathlon city! Our TriSchool Program and the Edmonton Triathlon Academy, both created and supported by Do North Events, are allowing even more budding triathletes to hone their skills.
